Working on cycling my 120 gallon. Do you think it would be beneficial to take part of the filter from my 8,000 gall pond and put some in both my canisters to jump start the nacteria?

It'll help definitely, however you run the risk of introducing disease.

Yeah well my pond is full of ! 8"+ koi. Raise em in my aquarium and when they start getting big outside they go. But anyways they are all crazy healthy so I think disease free?

Sounds good man. Like I said, it's a risk, not a certainty.

Yeah man. I know, I'm kind of paranoid due to one of my bigger tanks dying off last night/: Still to problems unknown, but probably stemming from some limestone I threw in without thinking/:

as long as you trust the source (in this case your pond) then by all means do it, that's what I always do to help start up any new setup

Yeah I love it! catfish and Koi in there and I must say it is gorgeous. I'll post pics in a few days. And I definitely trust my pond water. I test it weekly and make sure my filters never dry out. I have 2 huge 240 gallon sump looking filters on there. No idea what kind but it is mainly sea grass?? In these huge rubbermaid looking containers.
