I have a brand new setup here and I have plants growing very well.
IT IS a 32 INCH x 15 INCH 35 GALLON bowfront.
I want a snazzy schooling fish. I don't have a heater, so the temperature varies from 18 to 24 in the room, depending on the season.
The fish I pick MUST NOT eat plants.
It MUST school moderately well.
It must be able to handle temperatures below 20 celcius.
The fish at the LFS that I might pick from are as follows:
-Rosy barb (does it eat plants?)
-Black Ruby barb (does it school??)
-Giant danio ( tank too small?)
-Gold barb
-Zebra danio/spotted danio (a bit drab, but well behaved and active)
-Odessa barb
-Clown barb (someone said they ate plants
I still have the black moor... AND I tried white cloud minnows. I had 10 and they vanished slowly. Even at the beginning though, they never did school well. I kept replacing them and they kept getting eaten. So, I won't buy any more of them... most likely. DONT WORRY I instant cycled it with old substrate and filter.
