I just acquired a large female moorii (she's about 6-7") but I never found out from the previous owner what her diet was and I cannot get into contact with him.
She's in a tank with mostly peacocks, so she is the largest in the tank.
I feed my others NLS cichlid pellets (small and med. sized) along with cichlid flakes.
She doesn't bite the pellets, but will occasionally come up for the flakes, and I know that cannot be enough food for her.

So am I lost on what to feed her.
Any help is appreciated!

I picked her up last Monday (3/2).
She has not touched pellets since then, only the flakes.

Maybe she was fed flakes. The morii I had all ate pellets. Try both she'll probably get the hang of it after a bit then you can just use pellets like you were.

Is there a subsitute I could use for the pellets? Maybe cubes of shrimp/blackworms/tubifex or actual live food?
Not sure if she will touch live food.

You might wanna try market shrimp, or krill, or bloodworms. I think if you give it enought time she'll eat pellets tho.

It may tank more time, when trying to get a fish on new food, never feed them the old stuff (possibly flake) otherwise they will not hungry enough to take to the pellets.
