d.comp with mbuna

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
tank size?
how is it decorated?
how big is this comp?
what type of mbuna do you have?

I am surprised how aggressive the smaller Mbuna are. So it is a good question. I am not against mixing fish from different lakes, things sometimes just work out. But please check out diet requirements to see if they are compatible.

d.comps have a bad rep as being really mean, they are not... I would worry about the Mbuna, I would put with haps and peacocks first... they have yet to do well with my mbuna, had to give them to a friend instead...

toehead11183 tank will be a 220 gal still have to order it so no fish yet:(, rocks piled eithier end but fairly open through the middle, was thinking cobue afras, yellow labs, auratus, johanni, crabro, flavus, socolofi, saulosi, demasoni, and a few haps ahli, moorii and lithobates;)

stay awat from the auratus. the rest could be possible. yiour labs, peacocks are peaceful fish and may be picked on by the other fish. if you must have them, put them in first so that they will have settled in b4 the more aggressive fish choose territory. you can also help this by addint a ton of lage rock, more territory=less aggression. id forget the d.comp but if you must have it, put him in last and monitor it closely. as mike said, they can be bullies
another tip is to use sand if possible, moorii & lithobates prefere sand and it will make all your fish happier.
sorry i we popped your bubble
