So been thinking i needed a big cichlid for my 500g. Couldnt pass this up. Couple quick questions, at about 4.5" hows the color on this fish? I thought it was really nice looking so i had to get it. Its in a 20g right now till it hits like 6" then into the big tank. I was told it was a male, but im not 100% can anyone sex it for me at this size?? Dorsal fin comes to a point, but nothing like my male gt. So far he has enjoyed chasing 3 rosie minnows i threw in last night when i setup the tank. definately agressive, but after a couple hours chasing, hasnt killed any minnows.

Idk looked colorful and cool, guy said it was turned in by someone who ordered it then left for military. So maybe less aggressive? I just need one good show cichlid for my 500g, a 19" azul p.bass I've been keeping for a friend is going and I was thinking this would make a nice addition
 
Pics make him look redder also, I have a purplish plant bulb, idk bout rtm, I def see some jag, especially the first pic, anyone positive what it is and have pics of bigger?

Definitely keep that in mind, I'm gonna keep him a bit n see how he looks(and behaves)
