D I Y glass tops

I've got a 185 gallon tank 60x30x24 just wondering if anyone has fabricated or put together their own glass tops. I've gotten the 4 pieces cut from 1/4 inch glass for the tops but what do you use for lift handles and hinges and the plastic spacer that fits the very back of the tops to allow for filter tube entry electrical cord exit etc. BTW i've got a four foot double lightstrip to go on top. I'm a pretty good improviser but was hoping someone had already crossed this ground....TIA for all replies...

I have shoddily made my own before but didn't work well as I used lucite.
