Holy! my area had a bad thunderstorm last night and i'm pretty sure there was a bolt of light that flashed and hit right on top of my house cuz this loud noice woke me up last night. Anyways, I came back from summerschool releazing my xbox won't turn on!! Did the outrage of electricity fry my xbox?? Or did the entire outlet break from the outrage?? The last time there way a thunderstorm, the heater got fried. Where in my xbox do you suppose broke down?? The entire harddrive or the power cord (the rectangular thingy)? Where can I go fix it or do I need to buy a new xbox?? Can I somehow recover my olf xbox live account in a new xbox??
How can i test it if it still works?
holy crap i have bad luck!

Dude just save yourself the grief

Toss it and get a ps3

haha knew you gonna say that! i want to fix it first. Anybody experienced this before?? Is it the rectangular prism power box that destroyed or is it the entire xbox harddrive?

try using another powers supply or plug it into somewhere else that you know is working.

x2

Also was it plugged into a surge protector or in the wall outlet. If its in the surge protector make sure the switch is turned on because it will flip off when something like that happens.

what's a surge protector? i'm pretty sure it's just aplain wall outlet

The tv in the same outlet still works.

I tryed plugging it in the upstairs outlet still nothing. Do i need to replace the xbox or just the cord?

holy crap then i'm lucky! It was plugged in a surge protector but the xbox still won't turn on. what happened?
