ok so my dad has been on shift(hes a firefighter captain) for the last 96 hours:nilly:. he gets home and is is like hey what do you want to do for tommorrow cause football practice isnt till 5:30. so i told him well we have to go to the lfs to get the snake a mouse and pick up that catfish, and put the red texas on hold. and he is like well are you sure you want to get that catfish cause i think it is a waste of money. i was stunned:eek:. the catfish in question is the ornate pimelodus i have been talking about for nearly a month now. and now he thinks i shouldnt get him, cause he is just another catfish that will sit on the bottom or hide untill night!!!:irked:
 
Listen to your dad. He might be overtired...but then again...he might be onto something. :D

Go to a local pond, pull yourself a bullhead. (Keeping regulations in mind) This guy will be active as all heck, eat from your hand, and be free. Not until he gets bigger will he just sit in a hole all day. I have raised several to maturity.
 
^i aksed him about that before i ever considered the ornate pim, and he said not unless you plan on cooking him, cause they are ugly!!! i cant believe it!!! also the ornate pim, swims constantly, sort of like a shark in a catfish body. he jsut doesnt like catfish. he thinks i need to do nothing but oscars!!! in a 125, he wants to do a dozen(ya 12) oscars!!!
 
That sounds really messy. Hope he helps with water changes man. I had a mated pair and that was bad enough.
 
we are getting the pim for free!!! i have a gift certificate that a got from a relative that is for 25$ and the catfish is 20$ and we are doing assorted ca cichlids, not 12 oscars. the guy at the lfs covinced him not to do the oscars
 
ya^ now we just gotta convince him of that, he lightened up after i told him about the gift certificate
