dagnabit! burned out filters :(

i just got abotu 20 used tanks, all complete with HOB filters

unfortunately, the person who last kept them just let them run while he performed no tank maintanance and the water level dropped, and pretty much burned them all out

i've fixed a few of them bu just refilling them and plugging in, but the rest make either an awful screeching sound or just won't work!

what can i do to fix them

i think most of them are whispers.

Try and get to the motor and see if it's filled with gunk.Clean them all out, plug them in and see what happens. Most might be just filled with dried up muck, just clean them.
