I was just have a question about doing a 50% daily water change on my 55 gallon (planted) discus tank. Do I do it all at once or 25% in the morning and 25% in night? It just seems like doing 50% in one shot could throw off the water chemistry significantly.

As long as the water is around the same temp. and PH, it really doesn't hurt a thing. I've been doing this for many years. Your discus will show their appreciation by growing big and round, without a lot of the problems others may have.

50% water changes daily!!! really thats crazy!!!

Thats normal for many discus keepers, heck some people go to 80-90%. (Though you only really need it when they are growing.)

I do 50% or more for my discus however, mine are bare bottom tank! For planted tank I don't know if your plant will like it. I don't have a planted tank so I really don't know. Hopefully, someone will chime in.
