Since I have not had a real answer, let's put this out there.
The LFS in Austin both claim that Dainichi is a superior food, however, neither stocks NLS.
Seems to me that all the MFK forum members promote NLS so much, the company must be a site sponsor!
Here is the question: Those who have used both and compared, which do you feel is better and why?

I use both, I think both are fantastic foods.

Personally I like Dainichi a little bit more because the food just looks and smells richer. NLS is fantastic though, used it for my Discus and my Africans. You can't go wrong with either one, it will always boil down to personal preference.

I've used both. I find that NLS tends to cloud the water a bit more than dainichi.
Currently I feed my africans strictly NLS. I guess that's because I can get it in 5lb pails. Just easier that way.

Well, I just have 1 75 gallon tank, so a larger size is unnecessary. I know Dainichi is available in a larger size as well.

The two are similar enoughthat it will generally boil down to personal preference. Try them both and see what you like. I, myself, prefer NLS.

I agree with this. I myself use NLS and will continue to use NLS permanently although I've never tried Dainichi. I would love to try it someday though.

when I was serious into Africans, I would choose NLS over Dainichi any day, although using one over the other is still not a bad decision

My LFS has NLS so thats how I roll. Never tried Dianichi, but there packaging is pretty.

Isn't all food basically the same?
Fish/shrimp/krill Meal
A dash of Amino acids and fats
Kelp or Spirulina

Nothing against Dianichi, but it seems like a similar product w/a little higher price tag.
