Damage a 16" ornate can do to a tail

My usually peaceful bichirs were not so nice to each other last night... I suspect my 16" grumpy ornate did this, usually she plays nice.

Solid 1.5" missing... shouldn't take that long to heal, but its ugly

This is what my smaller ornate did to my new ornate which is alot bigger. It really pissed me off because I just got it and it looked so nice until my gimpy ornate chomped it..
