every couple of days my silver's fins get seperated, its like ripped, but couple of day its fins heal up perfectly, then the next day ripped again, why does this keep happening? tips?

What are your water parameters? What are the tank mates? What size tank? What type of filtration? Without this info, you may as well use a Magic 8 Ball... there's no way to intelligently answer the question. We'll be glad to help, but just let us know the above.

-water parameters: 0 for ammonia, nitrates, etc. 84 degree F, 6.6 ph
-tankmates: clown loaches, albino bichir
-175 gallons
-filtration: 2x fluval 405

sorry bout forgeting details

I'm not sure. Maybe someone else will chime in with some possibilities. My first guess would have been tankmates, because nipped and ripped fins tend to heal very quickly with good water quality. So quickly, in fact, that they may heal by the next day or day after, and then they get nipped again. But with these tankmates, I'm not sure. You can pretty much rule out any illness, because the problem would get worse, not better and then come back. The same with water quality. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Maybe a fellow MFK'er can.

could be nipped or fin rott

It seems like if it was fin rot, it would be getting worse, instead of getting better, and then coming back. My guess is getting nipped, since his params. are good, and the problem comes and goes.

Often times silver aros can rip fins when they become spooked. The fact that they heal quickly can be attributed to very good water parameters.

If the fins are split then not fin rot. Fin rot has a "U" look to it.

well, I basically had the same problem, to a minute scale...I have a 54g grow out tank that I have a small 3-4 inch baby silver arowana, and a 3 inch albino polypterus...well....I'm sitting here finishing things up and kept hearing something from the tank. Everytime I'd look over, wouldn't see anything...there's NO openings so a fish jumping out is out of the questions....I just within the last 10minutes had to scare and literally swat at my albino poly to let go of my arowana...I was pissed...still am. I kicked the poly out into the middle tank (125g) to fend for himself.

I was gonna put up a post, but instead trying to cool down from this...my arowanas pretty beat up from this attack. At least I know where it's been coming from...

Not fin rot or it wouldnt heal up without meds. Rule out clown loached nipping. Just doesnt happen. Either he's ripping them by rubbing on something or the bichir doesnt like him.
