Damage from large rocks in tank?

I have a 75 gallon (glass) cichlid tank with crushed coral substrate, and I just purchased a ~50lb texas holey limestone rock to put in the tank. Is there anything I should do to help distribute the load of the rock, or will I be fine with just shoving it on top of the substrate?

just make it even. dont put stress only on one side of the tank

You could put it on top of a piece of eggcrate that you bury in the substrate.
