When I purchased my BGK, i noticed it had a chunk bitten out of its fin. This was probably from another BGK in the over crowded tank my lfs had kept it in. When I brought it home and upon further inspeection i noticed a some whiteing areas around the injury. Fearing that it may be ich or fin rot, I placed some aquarium salt, raised the temp, and added a half-dose of medication in its tank. After a few days all the symptoms had disappeared, and it was eating and swimming actively now. However, it still had a missing chunk from its fin. I was wondering if that will ever grow back?, and if so how long?

Depends on how bad the damage was. It should grow back. Can you get a picture?

What medication did you add? They are scaleless, and rumor has it that they are very sensitive to meds.

I agree with benzjamin, it should grow back. Also, if you are exaggerating and it's a slit up the fin. That is very common for juveniles.

Whenever I see any sort of physical damage with any of my fish, I use stress coat, it contains aloe vera and does an outstanding job of replenishing the slime coat.

Either my Clown or African Brown had a split caudal when I got him, it had healed within a couple of weeks. A chunk will obviously take longer, but it should heal up to mostly unnoticeable I would think.
My Oscar is always banging himself up and heals in about a week.
