Long story short my piranha tank is damaged. Its a 300 litre tank 80g? i think and dimensions are about 48" long x 15" wide x 30" high.

Contacted the seller and the tank has to be picked up by them, repaired then returned to me. The whole process could take over 30 days :(

What the hell should i do with the fish? They range in size from 5-7" and are red bellies, 3 of them in total. I do not want to rehome them but in the same way i don't have hundreds to put down on a new tank while waiting for this one.

I have a few spare tanks but i only have a 10g a 20g high and a 20g long.

The largest dimensions of my spare tanks are 30" long x 12" wide by 15" high. Would they be alright in this for a few weeks?

Do you have filters to run all 3? One in each tank? Not ideal but hopefully they will work fast on fixing yours

I would keep them in your individual small tanks if its just for a few weeks. Things to consider:

-Tight, closed off lids. Piranhas like to jump when confined.
-double up on water changes, cut down on feeding.
-cut off bright lights. The darker it is the less fidgety theyll be.

I would forsake the 10 gal for a plastic tote from the hardware store if you could. 10 gallon may be small enough for your fish to beat itself up in bad.

Or a wheelie bin/dustbin:-)

Do you all think a 150l plastic storage box will do all 3 of them?

I do have separate power filters for each of the 3 tanks but I would ideally like to not keep them separate as each tank will get very dirty quickly with just the internal filters.

It does concern me that I won't be able to observe the fish through the storage box as it will be black but I guess it's better for the fish.

What you all think? They seem kind of quiet and lethargoc although they are eating.

Not attempted to fill the box all the way until I can get some kind of net to go over the tub. Don't want them doing a jump!

They will be fine just keep monitoring the parameters and wc's.

Done a water test today and nitrite, nitrate was fine. Ph was 7.5 but a damn 3.0 of ammonia :(

Done a 60% or more water change and added another filter from an already cycled tank.

What's concerning me really is that the more I fill it the more the sides bow out. Do you think this box could crack with the water pressure?

You all been very helpful so far thanks.
