cat chew threw my hosing fo my air pump causing the hose to siphon water out lost about 25 gallons on water on my kitchen floor. Cabinet botom soaked. THe more i hat cats!

This happind to me just about a year ago, tho i keep check valves the cat pulled the hose off on the wrong side of the check valve, i at the time worked over a hour from home, i got a call from my mother inlaw and said the tank is makeing funny noises and the whole dineing room floor was soaked, i had a sump that ran dry killing my magdrive pump, it drained a good 1/3 of the water by the time i got home. after all the clean i up and topping it back off away i went back to work a hour back. just to be there for 30 min then to just drive back home, so the lessend learned for me was i should of just stayed home, oh and i dont use air pups on my big tanks anymore. only fry tanks and the pumps are right behind the tanks now. not on the floor anymore.
and i also do not work more then 5min from home now incase something like this happins again :D

That happened to a buddy of mine...Now he encases his air line tubing in split loom wire management hose. Cats haven't gotten thru that yet.

Has only happened once didnt cut it all the way through though just made some holes in it have the siphon valve almost at the top inside of the tank so no chance of the cat ripping it and making a mess

thats why all the pets that i can be kept outside are outside.
