lossed my afro last night. it was 5" and got ich from some plants i put in the tank. my f up for not qting the plants. been so long since i got pet store plants i forgot they can have the damn ich. though it did die it's body was not wasted. it will be achara poop in a day or so.

i'll have to do an update on the silver aros soon. just added a new canaster to their tank so i am up to 1700gph on that tank now. looking to see if the uv light i also added will kill the diatoms.

Just curious though, are african arowanas that frail? I thought ich is easily treatable..

ya they are. i was treating it, but then it just started to shed its slime coat and died. 3 days into the ich. it was eatting fine and growing fast then bam. f ing petco and their sh;ty plants.

ich is very common in the fish tank...but I still don't get it how ich can kill your aro in 3 days??????????????

it got ich, then stressed out from it and started shedding slime coat. it got hit hard. it was a small aro and they are very very fragile at that size.
