Damn!! more Silver Dollars. 55g

alright i have a slight dilemma brewing and i need some advice.

i have the two 6" silver dollars and one 9" pleco that i saved in my 55g with one whisper 60 and one whisper30. i do 10g water changes every 4 days, usually Monday and Friday (my days off). water parameters are perfect. fish are doing great and healing.

fast forwards to today, my friend gave me seven 1" juvi silver dollars that he can no longer take car of.

so now i don't know what to do, i tried giving them away on craigslist.org but no one seems interested.

options 1:
add them to the 55g right now and maybe add a sponge filter or two? i can increase the volume of water per water change but i can't do more water changes.

option 2:
set up the 40g that i recently bought and put the juvi silver dollars as grow out tank. problem is, i would have to take the whisper 30 from the 55g. but replace the whisper with a sponge filter on the 55g and add another sponge filter to the 40g. and remain doing 10g water changes per tank every 4 days.

side note:
i have fallen in love with these silver dollars and have plans to upgraded to a 100-150 gallon when funds and space allow. 3-4 months time.

personally id go to an LFS and trade in the common pleco for next to nothing unless you've grown attached, the 7 SDs would produce less waste than the one pleco, maybe replace with a bristlenose or 2
 
i agree, that comons a beast and gonna do nothing but grow and make a mess..ditch him, maybe work a trade for a pair of smaller bristle nose or one atleast..they are beastly algae eaters and not nearly as messy
 
just in case i can't get rid of the the common pleco would he be ok in a 40g bare bottom tank by himself. with 50% water changes every monday and friday.
 
yeah for a while i just don't see him as being worth it, they aren't really worth much of anything just give him to an LFS as a donation
 
Im with the rest. ditch the pleco. Things are use less. Atleast to me there are some come ones people like to keep. But those get giant any ways and are waste machines.

or just buy another whisper filter there cheap and run forever (or use to)


or get rid of a few SD so you can fill your 55 so you can do what you where gonna do with your 40

i already have 2 hob's on the 55g, whisper 60 and whisper 30. so your saying if i replace the whisper 30 with another 60 i should be alright?
