Right guy's as i promised the pic's of my trip
these pic's are of the first time i went out it looked like a great place for some big carp until i found out from the guys i went with that this water gets hevily poached and the moroccans, spanish and gyipsies all use illiegal nets, 2 car batteries wired up together and then throw in a big metal plate to stun all the fish to the surface they even set up snare type traps for the fish simply put a big stake into the bank a wire trace with a hook which has a big barb on it then com back later for the fish.
these are some of the crimes scenes i saw i understand people have got to eat but as an angler this P***es me off a bit
but after that there was some nice sites this is the lake we fished
but then terry the guy who took me out a nice old boy but unfortunatly his tackle and equipment wasn't up to scratch i had to bodge and make up rigs the best i could with what i had first day out we was just catching carp beautiful fish really lean and brightly coloured fish not very big tho the average size was about 2 to 3lb with the odd 4lber pulled out
terry pulled out this little fella he said they were called al burro (not sure on how to spell it) which got me thinking when he mentioned there were Zander in here
so the second time i went out we came to the same spot and i new terry didn't have the right gear to catch zander or anything even close so as chance had it i happend to find a childs mini toy golf ball you know the type that floats so i cut half a swivel and screwed it into the ball and glued it inplace and used it as a zander live bait float he didn't have any trebles either so i had to make my own trace out of some wire he had in his car i heated it up over the stove so it straigtend up then attached it to a big barbed sea fishing hook which he had knocking about in his tackle box and had one effective but very bodged rig didn't take a pic ... too embarraced  but it worked i missed 2 zanders which made me more determain to catch so the little al burro's we were catchin as live baits i used a smalled one and caught my ver first zander only a small one but it's my first one. i then thought i'd step it up a gear by adding a larger al burro , by then the weather turned against us a heavy sea breeze came blowing in and the lake developed waves wich was good for me as i wanted my live baits to cover as much ground as possible now when you add a larger bait and your float moves against the waves FAST you know you've a big fish on there so i waited for it to go under it did twice so i struck B*****D too early no catch gutted i was i lost another 2 after that also.
i also caught my first barbel out there too caught it on the drop hook full of maggots good little fight for such a small fish
gonna have to wrap this up now as i'm tired of typing hope you guys enjoy !!!
