I saw this comment in another thread but...

How do Zebra Danios reproduce?

They are easy but eat their eggs, Use any tank 5 gallons and up, Condition the fish with high quality/high protien foods for a week, while doing this slowly raise the heat about 4-5 degrees, then do a partial water change with cooler water to drop the temp back to the original setting, If using a spawning tank cover the bottom with spawning mops or a couple layers of marbles and only use enough water to have 3-4" swimming room above the top of the mops/marbles. Did I mention that they eat eggs? They should spawn over the next couple days, use groups of them such as 6 females/4 males. After spawning remove the adults, use a sponge filter in the spawn tank. At 78 degrees the eggs hatch in 36 hrs. Don't feed them until the fry are free swimming, about 3 days, then start on infusoria or liquid fry food, they will be 1/2 inch long in under a month and 1" in around 2 1/2 months. Expect a bit more than 200 eggs per female.
