I just recently set up my new 180 gal tank. everything went well except for the Mag Drive 18 i installed. the problem is a pin hole leak from the impeller casing on the inlet of the pump.

I called marinedepot and they told me that this has been happening and they cannot help me. they requested me to call Danner Co. itself. I talked to a danner technical service and they told me that it has been a problem and would gladly send me a new impeller casing.

since danner knew what the problem has been existing why have they not done anything about it? is it worth destroying a great name in the aquatic industry? just because they were stuborn to solve the problem that is right in front of them?:screwy:

They prolly got those pumps manufactured by the 1000 and maybe one run went sorta bad and maybe they didnt notice that problem before they got shipped.

Danner has been around forever and has a great rep prolly just a bad batch, cust service offered a replacement Id just take it

I agree....I'm running two mag drive 36's, a mag 24, mag 18, mag 12, and a mag 7 on my various setups....will be adding two more mag 36's as well. With the exception of a pump getting gunked up from a dirty sump and failing to restart after shut down (fixed with a quick cleaning), i've never had any other problems. Take the replacement piece from the company and I think you won't have any other problems.
