Just impulse bought a little betta last night and im wondering if they can thrive off a diet of just daphnia. I have a culture of like 10 trillion of them and i could easily feed this thing to it heart content with them.

I think live Daphnia would be great for a Betta. I'm quite sure in the wild the Betta diet consist of small live aquatic animals like that. Personally would still offer other foods.

i filled his tank up with water from my outdoor pond and plants from the pond too. so he has some other options, there was actually a damsel fly nymph in there that hes since eaten. ive never had a betta its quite fun to watch something so pretty hunt down its prey.

I believe Dragonfly nymph are predatory but not sure about Damselfly nymph.

I'd introduce a high quality pellet as well to cover anything that daphnia does not contain. I got a betta a couple of months back and he seems to like the Northfin betta pellets a lot.

I only got him because the tank was staying empty and I am surprised how much I enjoy keeping him. I've caught myself talking to him, playing with him and he seems to enjoy it as he now comes over to me like a puppy. They are funny little fish.
