I have 3 arowanas that were constantly at each other. Very aggressive. I'd never seen it before in arowanas I'd had in the past. I posted the question at MFK and one of the replys I got was "do you have a dark background on your tank? This will make the arowanas more aggressive". I thought 'what a flake'. I'm so sure. The background is gonna make a differance in my fishs behavior. Thats stupid. All the while, I DID have a dark blue background on my tank that I was thinking of removing anyway. So after a few more weeks of war, I cleaned my tank up and got rid of the dark blue background. This was about two weeks ago. I can not believe it. The fish have been at total peace with one another ever since. I can't believe it, but the MFK members who said this were right! If you've got arowanas showing aggression toward one another and you've got a dark background on your tank, lose it. It worked for me. My fish don't even bat an eye at one another ever since. Thank you MFK

I wouldnt put all my faith in that statement based on a single test.
Try putting back the background back and see if the aggresion increases again.

I don't buy it. My 4 aros have lived together in their tank with a black painted background for over a year, and no aggression.

I have a dark background its dark gray. My arowanas fight but not all the time. Ill remove it and see how it works/
