Recently acquired a pair of 9" midas. Bought them a 90 gallon. They unsuccessfully had two batches of eggs. Last batch made it too wrigglers and were eaten. The pair got along well till now. He is beating her bad! I don't think she will make it if I leave her in. Has anyone seen this? Should I pull her and give up?

I say pull her but don't give up,try a divider. Most of us have had this happen with varying cichlids. My JD pair did this. Remove female and rearrange things or get a divider.

sounds like typical aggressive cichlids to me. the male prolly ate all the fry so she would lay more eggs. separate them, let her heal. try again. after the eggs are laid, separate them again. he will eventually kill her if you dont do something now though.

90g is a little short for a pair, I would keep the pair in the 125
