i have a 3 inch thin bar dat with a clown loach in a 30 gal hex tank atm kept at 85 degrees( as a grow out) the clown loach yesterday showed some ich but as of today is COVERED

the dat has no ich on it that i can see and im scared to treat the tank with meds or salt for fear of the dat and fear that the cl with no scales wouldnt be able to take it
could some one plz tell me what to do?

helpfull critisism is ok if u come to tell me i did somthing wrong and thats it dont bother ty

I don't know anything about dats, but clown loaches can handle the salt and heat treatment for ich well. Hopefully someone else will chime in on the dat.

salt and heat.. add it slowly.. do 1/3 of a dose.. then a few hours later do another 1/3 then a few hours after that the final 1/3

rid-ich+ also works pretty well.. follow the dosing directions on the bottle but just like with the salt.. add it slowly..

make sure you have some hiding places for the loaches as well as the dats..

I'm sure the Dats will be fine during the treatment. When it comes to scaleless fish, I tend to do half the recommended dosage on any meds and salt.

I agree, definitely put hiding places in for both,my cl likes lying on his back with half his body in a half coconut and the other half out of it,it only just fits in lol.
Or some pots or tubes.

Dats can handle heat and salt with no problems, just up the aeration on the tank.
