Finally got all the pieces together for my dat community tank. Had all these fish for a while (12 3" NTT, 3 6" NTT, 3 4" AT, 3 silver dollars, 1 tin foil, 1 pleco, 1 bichir) but the silver dollars got nipped at by the AT's when i first got em so i had to put em into a 10g a grow them out a bit before i reintroduced.
So far the 2 of the bigger NTT's are unstable and only 1 of the small ntt's is unstable. It's been a bit of an experiment to setup the tank so that the dats dont hide, but it seems like i've finally found a setup that keeps them swimming around the tank for the most part of the day. Anyways enjoy.

A very nice community of baby tigers. Very attractive subdue lighting.

Something I have always wanted to do myself...raise lots of baby tigers.

Keep us posted. Feeding, growth rates etc.

Thanks! I left the tank lights off for at least 3 weeks after I first got them. Then to subdue the lighting I took cloth and wrapped it around the tubes (didnt wanna buy low wattage tubes cuz I just bought new tubes) and had the tank fairly dark for a few weeks. I'm slowly taking off layers of cloths every wc so its getting alot brighter, but the dats dont seem to care anymore. They still dart into their hiding places when the lights come on, but they come out after a minute or two.
As for the feeding and growth rate, I pretty much feed them market prawn, bloodworms and occasional rosey reds (even bought a 10g quarantine tank and added salt, pimafix, melafix to the water and pretty much just leave the feeders in there for a week before I feed them to the dats). I got most of my dats at 1-2" (very tiny for the most part) and it seems they've grown to double their size in ~2months. It isnt fast but its not that slow either. The AT's I have are much more faster growers and eat like pigs all the time.

i just got 3 more from medusa, LA. Traded my two big AT's for 3 small NTT's. The new ones are in a quarantine tank treated with pimafix and melafix. Will be dumping them in the big tank after a week. =)
