hello ..I was wondering if i can feed my gold dat small shrimps i cought at the beach i neted alot from the rocky shores...sorry if its a dumb question..i dont know but since dat are brackish...i just thought it might be ok to feed them live shrimps i cought at the beach..but i just want to make sure so i ask u guys..:)

so its ok? last time i asked at my local aquarium store the guys there told me not to cause the shrimp from the beach has alotta salt in them so its not good for the dat i should feed fresh water shrimp..but those..are so expansive..

I feed my Dat's silverside....and trust me silversides are salty. No probs whats so ever.

theres a chance of that feeding anything live.. want something cheap go to the market and get a pound of raw shrimp for $5 that should last you 2 months for one dat.

Not all dats r brackish..Only the AT(silver) and the NGT(new guinea tiger) should be kept in brackish water..But they all can tolerate some aqua salt in the water..Not marine salt!!

And I wouldn't feed the ocean shrimp..Only freshwater shrimp.

be careful with any shrimp... everytime you feed your fish with shrimp always remove the the head and the tail or if you can just cut the spine in its head and the spine at the tail its ok... these spines might injure the linings of your fish intestine and cause infection....

also for easy feeding cut them in bite size... but if your fish can swallow the whole shrimp then go for it...
