purchased an IT yesterday and he still wont eat tried blood worms, frozen brine shrimp, freeze dried krill, pellets.
any suggestions?

He probably needs some time to acclimatise to his new tank... depending on its size im sure it can last for even a few weeks without any food at all so you'll have time to find out what he eats.

I have 4 datnoids and 3 of them only eat bloodworm, the other one eats massivores and is now about four times their size!

thanks. hopefully it wont be to long.
the dat is 5" and in 120gal custom tank. if he does well i wanted to get a few more.

where did you buy him from?... perhaps you should give them a visit/ring and ask what he was eating. I always ask the shop to either show me the fish feeding before I buy or to show me what food they are giving the fish.

I bought a fire eel years ago and it was on a hunger strike that lasted 6 weeks! thought he would die but eventually he ate earthworms (and only earthworms).

i got him from a local shop. they said they had just got them in the day prior. i guess i should give them a call.
i never buy from local fish stores but thats the only place i can find any dats at all in my area. people who are willing to ship either wont show me any pics or try to hit me with the odd ball markings.

I wouldn't be the least bit concerned-give a few days and he'll come round. I personally wouldn't feed him until then, and the I'd try pellets. If you're able to get him pellets you and the Tiger are in a great position :D

try to give them small live shrimp,
how the size of IT? was fit to eat small fish?
try to give them the coral platys or small goldfish;)

5inch, dont worry at all.
They are very strong at 5 inch, probably last a few weeks without food.
give it some time, normally takes a few days for them to begin looking for food.
Personally I would hold out on live food, dont want to get use to eating live in your tank!
Just feed tank the usual and eventually he will take, prawn always work for me!

Goodluck

Like everyone else said it probably just needs time.
as you put the store only got it the day before and then you got it so it has been moved around alot so just keep trying
also i wouldnt wait to buy more go and get some now they are addictive and do and look better in groups

I have a 2 inch IT not eat for 2 weeks and a 5 inch IT not eat for 4 weeks.
Neither look too thin either .

Hopefully they'll eat soon. A few more weeks
I reckon.
