Dat questions

Hey all. I've some questions for the experts here. I have been reading a book on brackish fish. It states that dats like low salinity waters < 1.006. Can anyone confirm this or have another opinion?

depends on the species, as far as i know only American tiger dats require brackish, indos, NTT and the others are fine in full fresh from what i know

What is preferred salinity for the American dat? Do theu migrate to full sw when mature?

I believe they are just fine in fill brackish. Most people I've seen on here have them in full freshwater and they seem to be ok.

Is it okay, as far good aquarium stocking practice, to house CA cichlids with a Tiger? I'm curious if anyone does this, and if the overall outcome is generally good.
