Dat sizes and temperments?

I know this is going to sound like a complete noob, but it's because I am when it comes to Dats.

How big do these guys get?

Would these get along with an 180gal African cichlid community tank (avg adult size ~6")?

those might do fine in a 180, but not a 180 filled with africans. in the wild they can get to 2ft, but in the aquarium around 18"

Temperment varies, I disagree with the belief that they won't bother anything that won't fit in their mouths.

i really would not mix dats with africans..for different water reasons..as well as aggression..all dats reach adult sizes from 15-20+ inches.

maybe the african cichlid will peck at you dat's eyes..they are little badass

They might have a couple for lunch in the future but i believe they might work long as they're small.

I wouldnt mix them. If the dat gets punked he will hide and wouldn't do well in that tank.

i actually have a 3-4'' IT growing out with 4 4-5'' frontosas and a 5'' caureleus and although it is not a long term thing i have had no issues, i have put my 8'' ST in there to help heal after a kicking by my aro which has worked out well also.
now its not something i would do long term as this is going to be a species only tank for fronts again soon but as i said i've had no issues with this set up and the small IT will be there for a couple of month yet.
