I would think so. I hear Dats rarely break 15" in captivity and even that takes a long time.

dats grow very slowly so no worries about upgrading tank for a long while, the only problem is once you get one, then you will want more and more and thats when the tank gets to small and its time to upgrade.

I am starting to get that way now. The dat is my favorite fish and I can see getting another.

I've heard that once you go dat, you never go back.

Expect to be buying more dats and a bigger tank when they start to getting bigger.

dat are really slow growing, they will slow down once they hit 10", and the largest i seen is just 15" .
