Hello MFK,

My NTT is acting more timid than normal. He's kinda looks like he's bruised up and scratched up at first glance, but upon closer examination, the bruises are red lumps or bumps, and the scratches doesnt look like just skin hanging out but more like little zitts. Anyone seen this or know what this is? I know I have to submitt some pictures, and i will do so when i get home to my camera, but I'd just like to hear the opinion of the community. maybe get some peace at mind.

please get back to me soon

I read something about it being called datnoid disease....Theres threads about it in here. From what i read it spreads fast to other tank mates and kills fast....People treat it with high salt levels, increase the temp to i think 88, and do 50percent water changes daily. Regular meds seem not to have a affect....because its a mix of 2 things. Like i said this is only what i have read about it....look it up DATNOID DISEASE. GL

Based upon previous personal experience, I would recommend that you do the following IMMEDIATELY:

Dose your tank with Jungle Labs Parasite Clear
Dose your tank with Triple Sulfa antibiotic

Continue this combination treatment for one week and then perform a 50% wc. Temperature and salt will have no effect, IMO.

Good luck.....Brian

Never seen Dat Disease first had, but from what I understand it shows itself as white sores, not "red zitts".

I would up the temp, add salt, and increase water change schedule.

uploading picks soon... my barb is floating upside down... my dat has less sores but not he has something white sticking out the side of his body, likes like a tip of a bone but not.. i just changed the water, will let the temp rise up.. added aquarium salt to it.

and wat are: Dose your tank with Jungle Labs Parasite Clear
Dose your tank with Triple Sulfa antibiotic

i will pick them up immediately if that helps the cure... come to think of it.. it could have been from the datnoid first, then infected my barb, but my barb doesnt have the same disease.. but floating upside down. from the looks of it, he's a goner in a couple of hours

These are the old pictures from a couple of days ago.. ill upload the one that looks like a bone soon
