Ok, I recently moved my female midas (about 7in) into a 75 gallon. A friend of mine gave me a couple lil green texas cichlids and I picked up 2 cons the other day. One white and one black. The black con is a female for sure but cant tell on the white one yet.....anyways
the biggest green texas is about 2.5 in and he has started trying to get the midas to breed. Its funny cause its so small compared to the midas. so far he just nips at her and tries to do the lil love dance that fish do. she usually just swims away or brushes him off. so far she hasnt got aggressive at all with him and he is being VERY persistant......
part 2 in this love affair is that the black con female is following the green texas around doing the same thing to him that he is doing to the midas.
she seems to be getting pretty jealous and even gets him to chase her into a pot and tries to shack up but he refuses.... guess the lil texas likes them big girls!
