Dating specifics?

Okay guys and gals, I am 18 right, and my girlfriend is 15 (jul 4th bday) and we have been dating for 5 months now and I was wondering what you all think about this. I turned 18 on Jan 16th.

Is the over 18 rule worth following if you do nothing wrong? My dad is in a fuss about the possibility of someone getting mad at me and sending me to jail and ruining my life if they want. I agree it is very possible but I can't see anyone doing it. lmk what you think.

in terms of going to jail, that depends on the age of consent in your state.

here in Ontario, the age of consent is 14. so you could legally have consensual sex and no jail time/charges could result.

but if its 16 in your state, if someone found out you were sexually active with her, you could techically be brought up on charges of statutory rape, even if the sex was consensual.

thats probably why your dad is freaking out about jail time.

if she is below the age of consent, it is technically a possibility.

Well just dont tell anyone if you guys do "something". If you dont do anything wrong then no, you wont get into trouble with the law. If you guys do anything and even if she gives you consent you will still go to jail. I asked my uncle who is a police officer this like a month ago and the fellow police officers i work around with. All their answers where the same.
