I've had 2 3-4'' IT's for about 2 months and the aggression with the bigger IT is pretty high. i walked into my LFS and bought 2 NTT's thinking it might lower the aggression being that there's more and the bigger guy will get confused. brought back the little NTT's and now the bully IT is just picking on all 3 of the others.

is there anything i can do about the aggression? they're in a 90 gallon right now and i already separated the big guy from everyone else to a QT tank. the bully is my 100% stable IT and it's a real shame to see him banished to a smaller tank :(

any tips?

This is why people said 5+ dats or just one. How aggressive is it? Mine chase each other but there are no damage. I have 6 though.

yeah, that's my bad. he's pretty mean, the whole tank is pretty much his. as soon as i introduced the NTT's he chased them and my other IT around the tank and started taking lunges at them pretty aggressively. the damage wasn't entirely critical, some ripped fins here and there but, he's in a QT tank for now so, i guess no action in the main tank until i pick up 2 more ..

How big are the NTTs? Maybe keep him in the QT for a week and add him back. If sizes are the same you might be able to pull it off with 4. Maybe change the deco around as well before adding him back

add more dats - its that simple. even then you will not stop all aggression - mine 'bicker' all the time but rarely causes damage.

the bully himself is like 4'' and the others are pushing 3''-3.5''. I'm just going to separate the two NTT's in a different tank too. one of the two i bought from the store near my work was looking really skinny and under fed so i'm just going to pay close attention to him for a while until he bulks up a bit.

They don't call them tigers for nothing!

Split fins is quite normal with groups of tigers. If that's the worst damage inflicted I wouldn't worry too much.
