Yesterday I did a 25% water change and I added stress coat for the first time. Later that day he was turning blackish he's is not usually like that be is very stable and he swims alot. That night I tried to feed my Arowana guppies but my day ate 2 he is still black some times you can see his black stripes tho he is usally gold but sometimes black but now he is mostly black now.

That's common for dats, just means he's unstable, should change as he grows and becomes less scared.

yea...it is very difficult to predict what happen to them ....I have few dats almost all the time are unstable but I took 2 dats out the dat tank and put them in a drift wood tank. They are looking stable most of the time now.

If theg feel or see something new to them they usually turn unstable.

I just did a makeover on my tank last weekend and my dat.. that was stable all the time turned blackish as well.. No worries, I figured he will become stable again as soons as he gets used to his new decorated home..

OR they can go stable. Works both ways.

i agree, and til now no one knows what their stability and instability really means, personally it's like those of squids chromatophores. more like their emotions speaking.

I think all is normal
they are like that in my opinion

I also have IT that sometimes its black color is very ugly :D but later will change into yellow again
