Does it Impact on its instability or stability base on its environment?

I dont know about the environment. Probably does affect it. I love the "active camo" effect. Mine prefers subdued lighting and places to hide. But he is only 6". Maybe its a defensive move? Maybe hunting instinct? Will we ever know?
