Hey I was wondering if anyone knows why my datnoid changes color when he comes out to eat? He gets excited and colors right up but doesn’t stay like that...

I’ve never kept a datnoid, but I’ve had many other fish that when exited, stressed, mating etc.. change color. I would guess that this is either a dominant coloring or an excited coloring . I’ve had cichlids that got more intense coloring while eating
It's one of the mysteries of datnoids,just something that they do.
