my datnoid has a filmy white substance on his fins and forehead. i did a water change this morning and added pima and melafix but really no sign of recovery. should i wait till tomorrow to see what happens or should i do another water change tonight?

no not yet ill have to do it tomorrow im in the process of a water change and hes swimming normally so i guess im just gonna have to wait out the night and see what happens tomorrow? does anyone know what this is caused by and ive been doing research and im pretty sure its a grey fungus. what is the best medication for that. i have dosed the tank with both melafix and pimafix already...
so i think i may have figured out what the cause was...i changed out the sponge in one of my filters today and emptied the water out of it and the filter was probably off for about an hr so i think it might be re cycling which caused an ammonia spike i believe, would this cause fungus growth? and if i keep up with the water changes do you guys think my dat will be able to pull through? he actually looks better after the water change i just did
