Datnoid growout tank

Guys? Is a 50 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm (30 gallon) big enough to grow out some baby datnoids?

yes, assuming that they're 1-2" you'd be fine with a dozen or so, but you'll obviously need to upgrade in the future.

at one point I grew out about 20+ in a 20gallon long.

Yes, you can try those small sinking pellets, when 1 starts to eat, the rest will follow

agreed, there's a sinking pellet called hikari massivore. It may take some time, but once one eats it, the others eventually will as well. I never had a issue with datnoids not eating pellets.

I would say less than a year?
I had one IT which was around 1 inch when I got it beginning of the year and currently is only 2inch+

depends on personal preference, also depends on what size they are. Datnoids when smaller tend to utilize the entire tank (top,bottom,middle).

Yes, and when they're around 1ft size they will grow even slower
