datnoid help

ok i wanna get a small datnoid to grow out for my big tank but i keep reading people have stable datnoids and all these other things. what does it mean when they are stable? can you tell how the bars are gonna come out when they are small.

when they are not stable, they will hide in one corner and their body turn all black and sometime you can't even see the black bar at all. Really you don't want an unstable dat at all as it doesn't show any color or bar.

also is there different growth rates for the different dats, how do it's grow?

so im thinking about getting an it, would i be able to throw it in with my silver in about 8 months? my silver aro is about 10" inches right now.

^^if your lucky....aros grow much faster.

i know my silver is gonna be huge by the time the dat is about 8 inch. crazy difference but would the dat survive in my tank?

as long as u get a datnoid ~4"+ right now it shouldnt be a problem with your silver. before you buy the datnoid i think you should really figure out if you want a fish that likes to hide and doesnt eat what you want it to without putting some time into it. lots of peeps have already given up on their 1" indos already. im not trying to discourage you from buying but you need to realize a few things before you jump in.

i know, im also growing out an african arowana so i have no problem with the grow out. probably give the fish a try lol since i never had one
