hello everyone

i have recently got 6 new indo tigers 4 are all 4-5 inch and two are 7 and 9 inch there in a 6x2x2 with my 8 polys and a few barbs will post pics soon as possible

one of the 5 inch tigers hasnt eaten anything since i got him about a week and a half or so ago and is not interested in anything, he looks really skinny and im abit worried

also how much should i be feeding them and how often should i be doing water changes ive got a fx5 filter and a eheim 2217

ive found it hard to find much decent information on care for them

thanks for your help

ive found it hard to find much decent information on care for the care of dats.

You have come to the right place for help as there has to be as mch info on this site/forum as probably anywhere...First of all what are you feeding the dats and did they all come from the same source? The dat that causes you concern could just be more shy than the others and will come around and start eating at it's own pace,or,one of the others could be bullying it....Check the threads at the top of the page for all kinds of information.

well i got the largest two, the one that wont eat and another one thats skinny from the same person and the other smaller two from some one else the largest two eat massivore and the other 3 eat bloodworm and raw shrimp was going to go get some live shrimp tomorrow and see if he'll eat those? i havent seen any fighting or bullying but im not sure what it looks like

thanks

So they have pretty much been around and are accustomed to one another so hopefully it's just shyness on the non eater's part as well as the skinny dat.If you have not seen any one chasing another then that is good as they can squabble at times, they are not a communal fish in the wild..You seem to be on the right track as far as feeding,no feeders lol.The shrimp is okay but the more you can get everyone onto pellets the better.

thats why the skinny ones are so skinny, because the guy i got them from was trying to get em onto pellets but they just ignore them thats why i gave them blood worms and shrimp

how often should i feed them then daily? what sort of water changes will i need to be doing cause thats alotta food aha

are there any tricks to gettin them to eat pellet?

It takes time to train them, some longer than others and some never convert...When I feed mine I like to see a slight belly bulge everyday.I do one feeding and once they are full they have the rest of the day and untill the next feeding to digest their food....I do weekly fifty percent water changes on my tanks while trying to remove any visible waste with the hose.

Id be doing 50% wc's atleast once a week on your 180g. YOu can feed those dats 3x or more a day to get em fat. When i had a bunch of dats i fed them like crazy...5-7x a day. And they grew like crazy. If the skinny guy wont eat anything try some live blackworms to get him eating. BUt make sure you feed all the other dats first before feeding any live. Live should be your last resort.

ok i will try to refrain from feeders bu thet one who wont eat looks like my ngt did when it wouldnt eat for half a year :/

i thought if i stuffed him with live i could start starving again with out risking his death, gonna do a big 50% tomoro
