hey guys i have been stacking up on my datnoids and i got about 6 of them now. i made my tank bare to make sure they won't hide .
But when i get close to my tank , they go to the corner and practically play dead! they aren't stable except my smallest one which is only 1.5 inches the rest are 2.5" - 3". idk how to make em stable! someone please help me out on how i can house them better .

Some plants, dark substrate or sunken wood might make them feel secure enough to come out, or not be startled. When theirs no cover they feel vulnerable
Dithers large enough not to be swallowed might also help, much like cichlids they watch schooling type fish to know if things in their environment are safe.

Dithers are schooling fish that aimlessly swim around. Depending on where yours are from, geographically correct dithers might be barbs, rainbows or even scats or chromides(if you have brackish dats).
Some are are just not good without substrate until they are very settled in.

its been a while since ive had them and they are still not showing all of their striped :/ they come out and chase my finger around but they dont show all of their color. any help? i am feeding them market shrimp and using a 30g filterization system for them btw.

i agree with what is said before. i only have one but he is very interactive. I'm keeping him with astatotilapia in a heavily planted tank. Having a few good hidey holes for when they are stressed makes them more confidant, also how long have you had them, it may take a month or more for them to completely settle in especially if there is less cover then the tank they originally came from
