???
I've been feeding my .5" indos frozen brine shrimp, I think I might be overfeeding, I mean they finish the cube in less than 2 minutes but their stomaches r so big n full that sometimes they get lope-sided swimming, sometimes im afraid their gonna burst. is this normal for their stomach to be so big after a feeding? I mean I feed them 4-5x a day.

FYI these indos r beasts when it coems to feeding time, thinkin bout switchin to frozen bloodworms, maybe beefheart (u think they will instantly eat it?), too small to do guppies

Sometimes after a feeding my tigers' stomachs really bulge out but I've never seen them swim lopsided due to being so full :D

Chill on the feeding. If there eating 4-5 times a day, they def won't starve. Try max 2-3 times a day.
It's not good to see any juvanile/ young fish or animal so full they can't walk/swim straight....
Nice job though, 60g is perfect size
for those 5 little guys.
Stay of feeders, it'll be a knightmare to convert them back once they're hooked.

Lol thats way too much feeding my little guys are around the same size with bulged stomachs but never swimming lopsided. but i hand feed mine blood worms on the 2nd day i got them =D, then on the third day i cut shrimps into small strips and hand fed them again and they accepted it just fine. now every time i stick my hand in the tank they follow me around asking for food.

:naughty:

I think you're feeding way too much. If you're fish are swimming sideways like that, it's not normal and you should cut back.

You probably feed 4-5x a day to make them grow bigger, but giving them brine shrimp and bloodworm isn't going to do very much for them. Both of those foods are 6% protein and about 90% water. They're getting fat, but not getting the right nutrition if you feed them brine shrimp and bloodworm. It's like giving your kids watermelon to eat every day.

Give them mysis shrimp instead. That's rated at 10.5% protein, almost double the nutrition of brine and bloodworms. And just feed them 2-3 times a day. You can still make them grow fast by giving them better quality food. Feeding less keeps the water better and prevents them from internal organ damage.

Slowly try to introduce pellets into their diet. Search other threads here to see how other ppl got their babies onto pellets. Brine shrimp isn't very good for your dats.

2 feeds per day max

i feed live black worms for 3 weeks then I switched them to raw shrimps.

Is it ok for baby dats to go more than a day without feeding? I have some at work and I would like to not have to go in on Sundays to feed them (I will if I have to though).

i feed mine a mix of brime and bloodwurms 2x a day and there growing really fast. you should really cut back on feedings 5x a day seems like alot to me
