Datnoid pellet choice

Hey guys, got 3 little indo's on boxing day, so far i've been able to get one to devour pellets, one spit after chewing a bit and one not touch them.

Do people have a preference for these guys? Currently feeding a high quality cichlid pellet, trying to avoid massivore due to smell issues.

Any other input? is there a specialty pellet best for dat's?

For info sakes, i feed them northfin, but have massivore, hikari cichlid gold, and tetrafin colorbits.

Other options i would try include Extreme and NLS but i avoid nls again for smell reasons.

I don't recall ever hearing of Northfin and I have heard a lot of complaints about massivore pellets having a smell but I have yet to notice it.I feed them to my dats along with other types of Hikari sinking pellets.
You are on the right track as any good quality pellet should be better than giving them feeders and I would not give them anything else right now.The one dat that spits out the food should start to accept it completey if nothing else is offered and the other one should fall in line and start to take to them as well.It sees the others eating and after it gets hungry enough it should cave.

Northfin, is canadian made, by a semi-local. Here it seems to be as popular as NLS, and slowly gaining. It's nice food, but i am not sure.

I've done some small testing regarding it's results vs NLS, found them to be similar except lest waste with the NF. I guess the bottom line is they both are a "premium" pellet so i guess it's better than a budget brand.

Sorry for the garbage phone pics, and no i am not feeding them the 4mm lol, i have the 2mm cichlid pellet i just dump them in my NLS tubs because NF comes in bags which is lame

Hikari Sinking Cichlid Gold or Hikari Massivore. All my dats/stingrays/arowana/pleco/VATF are on this. Its like crack to them.

I feed NLS and don't find any stench with the tank water at all. Believe me, if their was any sort of odor, my wife would let me know....and it would be gone

All my dats are on jumbo krill by tetra...they liked it better then the massivore pellets. Only problem is it might smell too much
