My girlfriend and I are looking to get a matching tattoo to remember our old three bar IT. The first picture is the angle we want, but would also like for the top fins to be flared up. If anyone could help us with some good pics at this angle that would be awesome. The second picture if a young one of our old fish, not the pose we're looking for though. Also, bigger dats would be prerred so that the fins all look dark and not clear. Thanks for your help!

YOu need to work with your artist and not be too picky.
SHow him/her a few different pics and see what they come up with.
Pick an artist for their art. And then go from there.
IMO a picky client would make the job a lot less fun...and afterall...they are the artist.

ANd maybe get semi matching....or reverse images. The exact same piece is kinda boring for both you and the artist.

Thanks for the input, we're just aiming for realistic as opposed to overly stylized. There are a lot of bad arowana tats out there when the artist doesn't get the scales right and the pattern is off. I think we can be a little picky for that much $. We're in the process of each drawing one now, maybe choose one over the other, or both for the variety. We'll keep this updated with pictures :)

Be picky as you want, just don't be an a**. The fact is your dropping, potentially, alot of money for a good tattoo, so you can and should get what you want, the artist is there purely to give there opinion on what will and won't look good, but the final design is yours to choose. But like everyone is saying, find an artist, have them sketch a few ideas and if your not happy don't do it, don't be intimidated by the artist to go for something your not 100% happy with.
