My 5" Dat is twitching at least once a day.
I just took him out of a 3 month quarantine to put in my show tank.
(his buddy died of Dat disease so I wanted to be sure he was clean). He's been in there 10 days now.
He shouldn't have any parasites; is there any other reason he would twitch?
He's not scratching looks and eats great.
He never twitched when he was in quarantine.

Can you describe the twitching?

My Pbass was doing that about a month ago. His head would twitch...kind of shot up real quick and he would sort of jolt forward a little bit. I just kept an eye on the tank and really made sure to keep the water quality as high as I possibly could and it just went away after a few days.

To be honest...I still have no idea what caused it.

it's "flash" rubbing his boddy against the gravel or sand?

That's the first thing I look for too, but he mentioned that they aren't flashing...they're even eating normally. :nilly:

I doubt it but Ill mention it because I have no clue.... Not enough oxygen in the water? Maybe its twitching to pass some water thru its gills. Just a shot in the dark.

i dont know but i would consider twitching similar to flash rubbing. stressed out? water quality issues?

I have a top load trickel filter, in the bottom wet/dry for 300gal, 2 air discs,2 fluval 4.
Nitrates 5ppm.

I added a couple of bubble wands to my tank yesterday to get them ready for my new tank when it gets here and one of my ITs didnt like it that much lol...

I guess the bubbles tickled him and he started doing the trashing and then rubbing on a 4" PVC T I have in in the tank...

do you have any air stones in your tank?

Well I think we can rule out any aeration problems. In the Q-tank were you dosing with salt? If so how much salt was being used? How did you acclimate him to the new tank?
