Hello all, having a dilemma and wanted to see if anyone has any idea's ....
BACKGROUND: 220 gallon tank, wet dry filter containing 6 gold 4-bar datnoids, 2 silver 7-bar datnoids, 5 goliath african tiger fish, 2 red tail payara (vampire tetra's), 1 Nile Perch, 1 Tarpon, 1 African Pike, 1 red spotted golby, 2 freshwater barracuda's, 1 maganese cichlid, and 1 royal pleco
DILEMMA:
my Datnoids are developing a bluish tint to their eyes, and also a cloudiness, and are scratching repeatedly against anything in the tank. Vampire tetra's also have some minor cloudiness to eyes, and almost a floury look on their bodies in certain areas, but not fuzzy, floury. Also i occasionally see pimple like things on both these fish, however this has been happenning while the cloudy eyes is a new problem and is my largest concern. Some fish only have 1the eye affected others have both, while a couple look fine. My ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate are all 0, however a month ago i lost power and lost my biological filter, and had an ammonia spike, and this was where 1 datnoid developed a blue eye, but with the addition of salt it went away, and that fish is fine still. I'm nervous to add more salt, since my tank is at the reccommended dosage fo my tank size. Anyone know what this could be, and what my best plan of attack is? I'm thinking of adding bi-nox, but a half dose and raise the tank temp to 82-83 .... for the last month i've had the tank at around 768 since my house has been cooler with winter approaching. Sorry about the heavy reading here, just want to give as much info as possible. All fish are 3-6 inches long, and i've had them for 6 months, and i feed them almost exclusivly live goldfish, however i'd like to get them eating frozen or pellets eventually ... any help would be appreciated, thank you

I love when people say their nitrates are zero lol

U need to improve water quality. A good start would be 25% waterchanges every day for a few weeks. Sounds like a pretty stocked tank

That is a crazy stock for that tank... You either need the best filtration setup with a heavy water change schedule, or a swimming pool to keep the fish in. I'd recommend the latter since you will need one anyways those are beastly fish and you are so overstocked idk where to begin or what to recommend.

Ps if you added salt a month ago it should be gone from water changes unless...

I am planning on a much larger tank in the near furture, however the fish are quite small now, and there is plenty of room in the tank .... i am diligent with my water changes and the large wet dry filter is keeping the tank water very clean, numbers are great and water is crystal clear, and everytime i change the water i put salt in, along with stress coat to remove chlorine .... i guess i just hoped there was a "your fish has this so do this", but i realize it is very rarely that easy ... i appreciate the feedback .... i know from past experiences that fish fight a lot, but in this tank each fish seems to fill a nich and they don't fight .... i must say i have a lot of wood in the tank, and it had my pH quite low, like 5.8, but the fish were doing fine so i wasnt too concerned, then when i lost my biological filter i decided to change the tank around, and added about 8lbs of crushed coral to help raise the pH, which it did, i'm at about 7the now, which is perfect. My worry was maybe this caused the eye problems, however the first datnoid that got the blue eye got it just before i made these changes, so i excluded that as a possibility, but all these changes could all accumulate and cause enough stress to allow for a parasite to come in possibly .... thank you for the feedback,

Well i decided to sell my maganese cichlid back to the store, since he was given to me by a friend, and although he wasnt annoying many fish, he did have a problem with my datnoids and although he wasnt beating the hell out of them, he would chase them, and therefor cause stress ... i've done about 3 25% water changes in the last 2 weeks, and that, coupled with the removal of the maganese has made my fish look much better .... everyone is looking better and the datnoids are now out and follow me around the tank like puppy dogs rather than hiding most of the time. I also have cut my feeding in half, since i know that pollutes the water and i know i was overfeeding cause i just cant help myself, its so cool!! And i'm aware that there is always nitate in the water, no need to be a jerk about it, its just very low since i do water changes very regularly, but i'm glad you got a laugh about it! Thanks for the help all, and i'll try and get a picture up so everyone can see these beastly fish!!! Thanks again
