ok so i have a ntt datnoid and its tankmate is a jardini about 4-5".i noticed little bit of white dots on just the dats fins, and head. and i think may be still spreading. my question is can i just keep the datnoid in the same tank as the jar to treat it, not sure if the jar has it too but will it have any effects on the jar if its not effected if treated in same tank???

also was wondering if it would be better to just do 40% wc, turn up heater to about 85 deg and add aquarium salt?? then keep doing water changes and add salt till ick is gone?? Or...

Purchase ick treatment (what works best ?) take out all the carbons in filter and i dont know the rest.. any comments will be a big help, thanks first TOM:confused:

Datnoid is very easy to get ich, especial the thin bar.
it's ok to treat them in the same tank. Use quick cure, it work very fast, but remember to use only half dov. datnoids are scaless. when treat, raise temp up to 84/86 F

i perfer aquarium pharmicuticals (spelling)but git a new bottle bucause i notice i can git old and i needed to raise the temp to 89F for fastes results. my dats wer kinda hard to cure i have thin bars aswell

thanks alot guys i took your guys advise and raised the temp to 86 deg and added aqurarium salt each day i did 50% wc. the datnoid is healing at a fast pace. so when i dont see anymore white grains on it then i could go back to regular temp and carbon??

Raise the temp, add aquarium salt, put in an air tube and it should heal up in no time

Datnoides Definately do have scales, (unlike say a black ghost knife fish) so u can use the recommended dose. reducing it will only lessen the effect of the med.

yea i agree. salt and boost the heater. should be fine. and also datnoids do have scales. not as big but its on there.
